    C2 '66 Jack handle - 1 or 3 hole?

I've got a late 1966 car and the info in catalogs and the JG do not match. The JG says 3 hole and the catalogs say 1 hole for a 66. Which is it?

    Thanks for the help!

    Mark,

From every original '66 and '67 handle I've seen, definately 3 holes.

      Rob,

Usually I trust the JG, but it has been wrong before....

      Thanks for the clarification!

        Re: C2 '66 I think one hole

Mark The JG also says ex. manifolds are NOT painted on small blocks! I dont see the manifolds in the aim, so they must have been on the engine as an assembly. What do you think. Phil 8063

          Phil -

The process at Flint Engine changed in late '64 or early '65 to install the exhaust manifolds after the paint booth; prior to that, they were in place when the engine was painted.

What doess the AIM state ?

I only have the '65 AIM and TIM & JG, but Nolands's Vol 2 (pg.400) says that '63 thru early (Sept)'65 (wrench # 3780737) had no holes in the handle; then later '65 thru '66, # 3958953 had a single hole on the top.

In '67, wrench changed to # 3898172 and had an additional 2 holes on the side of the handle. I don't know if the '66 and '67 NCRS Tech Manuals agree with these changes and timelines.

                Phil -

'67 SB are not to be painted - don't know what the '66 JG says.
