C2 Exterior Mirror Date Code

I would like to confirm that the exterior mirror date code on a C2 (1967) is the month, then DMI, then the year. As an example: 5DMI7, would this translate to May 1967? A person trying to sell a mirror is claiming that the date code is the year, then DMI, then the month.

It sounds to me like your seller is correct. 5 is the month followed by DMI then 7 for '67.

The date on C2 mirrors would be month, followed by DMI, then the year. The 5DMI7 would be correct for a late 67 car.

By the way, DMI refers to Donnley Mirrors Inc.

My guaranteed original 67 exterior mirror for a June 29 car (22049), date code is 1-DMI-7.
I think this relates to January 67 which may be an anomoly for a late June car.
They may have been scraping the bottom of the barrel. But it meets the 6 month Judging Rule (and I would KA on any judge who calls this one a replacement).

Just having fun (and getting ready for Flagstaff).

Thanks Mike, that is what the JG states, month,DMI, year..
