    It lives

At 11:30PM tonight I finally took my 68 for a run around the block after over ten years of restoring and fussing over every part. Car runs perfect and such a thrill compared to the stuff on the road today. Haven't driven this thing in so long, even my 14 year old son who jumped out of bed when he heard me fire it up said "Dad, it was worth all the time and money you spent". I gave himn a ride so he could see what cars used to be like. Gotta love that small block Chevy
V-8. Didn't have much gas in the tank and all the stations are closed but those few short bursts around the block made it all worthwhile.
I had forgotten what it was like to drive a REAL car.
    Just had to tell someone.
I may be old, but I haven't grown up yet
Kurt (grinning from ear to ear)

Great stuff. In my opinion you managed to distill what this is all about into just a few lines. Now get some sleep--those gas stations will be open in the morning.

            Congratulations, Kurt!

I know you've been working long and hard on that car. I hope to see it someday as I've been reading about it for years now.

Nothing like the sound of a 327/350 firing up to get one out of bed for a ride. Enjoy the many happy miles ahead.

Great news to hear it's on the road. Now get some gas and take a nice road trip tomorrow.

Kurt...thx for sharing. last fall I had an occasion to take my '64 365 cpe to a local club meet. this car had not been on the road in 15 yrs. when I fired it up back came all the sounds of what a "REAL CORVETTE" should sound like. go for a cruise !!!!

My 60 was off the frame when I got it. Before interior and paint and with temporary wires, it was a huge thrill pulling it out of the garage and just turning it around.
The satisfaction and thrill of driving it for the first time, after seven years, can only be understood by those who have done it.

For that person that has the ability to do a body off is a great feeling when for the first time starts the engine and backs out of the garage for the first drive
