On '81, where does this sensor go?

I had the engine rebuilt this winter. Upon re-assembly, I cannot figure out where this sensor is supposed to go. My note on it said it goes in the bottom, rear, passenger side of the engine, but there is no hole there. In fact, I can't find any hole in the block that it would fit in. The sensor has 2 electrical connectors, approx. 5/8 threads, is 1.5 inches tall and requires a 7/8" socket to install.
Can anyone tell me what this sensor does and where it goes? Thanks!

        Robert-----

I believe the part you have pictured is the auxiliary cooling fan switch. This switch is installed in the the fitting on the rear side of the passenger side CYLINDER HEAD. When the engine temperature reaches the pre-set level, the switch contacts close and the auxiliary cooling fan is activated.
