We're restoring a 1961 which we believe was built in the first month of production. We've found the original paint color written on the forward blukhead in the trunk. However, we first looked for the paint information on the bulkhead behind the passenger seat and found this inscription" "HT/O." Given the car has no holdown clamps on the deck for the convertible top, we're thinking this may have been written on the assembly line to indicate this was a "hardtop only" car. Are we correct or all wet?
not sure but none of my 54 thru and including 57's had the crayon marking. the 61 and 62's had the color marking. never owned a 58-60 but i believe it was somewhere in that timespan. mike
