Searching for a CO to replate 67 seat tracks.

I am not sure if replate is the correct term. However, on my 67 seat tracks they appear to be dark gray. Bob Cook recommended finding someone to replate the tracks rather than using a paint finish. Does anyone know of a reputable company to replate my 67 seat tracks. I cant seem to lacate anyone that does the dark gray oxide. What is the difference between oxide and phospate finish?

There is a guy in Sanger, CA that does phosphate plating. His name is Steve Gregori. I don't have his number with me at home, but I do at my office. I will not be there tomorrow (playing hookie), but he advertises in Hemmings. He does excellent work at very reasonable prices.

Re: Searching for a CO to replate ;Phosphate

Chris, you want them phosphate plated, not oxide. Phosphate can be detected on a part by a perticular diamond like, sparkle in the plating when viewed in the sun. Oxide plating will rust almost as fast as bare metal! Phosphate plated parts will not rust.
