    1967 Radiator shroud repair

I bought a NOS shroud in the old GM box with GM stickers and part numbers correct. However it was a 3 piece (as it should be) but it was already glued together (nicely) but it had a couple pop rivets in each section. How can I or should I fix this and make it look correct when I remove the pop rivets?? What material can I use to smooth over the grind marks where they roughed it up to make the glue stick?? Thanks

Are you sure that it is correct? Most over the counter shrouds were of the later 68 style with the angle cut on the RH side.

      Yes---

Wayne it is a NOS, a original fan shroud that would have been on the 67 new. In other words it is about 40 years old. Thanks

So, it has the squared off RH side? Some, not all, original shrouds had one or more rivets at one or more locations. I would just carefully remove the rivets fill and sand the holes. Thats about all that you can do.

It doesn't matter how old it is. If it's a factory-assembled shroud (the one with the rivets in the top as you describe), then it's NOT an original 67 fan shroud. The 1967 fan shroud was never available as a completely assembled unit from GM. It was only available in 3 seperate pieces which had to be field-assembled.

The 1968 fan shroud was available as a complete assembly under GM #3938940. This shroud became the SERVICE fan shroud for 1966 and 1967 applications when the individual pieces were discontinued. It is completely functional for 66-67 applications and it differs in relatively minor ways from the 66-67 shrouds. However, if does differ.

Thanks Wayne and Joe, I THINK someone assembled it before I got it, however I might be wrong. I will look further into it before I get the sand paper out. Thanks!!
