I am restoring my 67' and the instrument cluster is out. How do I test guages to ensure that they are OK? Should I replace all to be on the safe side??
Jerry, scroll down a bit and look for a post with 67 restoration questions. John Hinckley gave a procedure to bench check a cluster.
If you're thinking about sending the cluster off there are some excellent cluster restorers around. Corvette Specialties of Maryland did one for me, I also had one done by Corvette Instrument Services (I think that's right) in Fl. Both were outstanding but the back of the cluster done by CSofM was much nicer. Joe Ray of Joe Ray Parts fame also does clusters and I've seen his work. Be prepared to pay $500 or so for this but it's money well spent.
