I'll tell y0ou right now you need to buy the books. Check out the NCRS store and buy all the books on your car C2 then you can read in detail the answers to your questions. It would take to long to answer "in detail" the response to your questions.

Re: What two tranys came with the c2 smallblock
Ralph,
It sounds like your posi clutches are chattering slightly, but will probably respond to a slightly richer mix of posi additive. If you don't know how old the diff lube is, or what the mix ratio is, then replace it with fresh 80W-90 and ONE 16 oz. bottle of posi additive. Ideally, one 16 oz. bottle of additive should be enough to prevent the clutches from chattering, but troublesome clutches may require as much as 32 oz. to keep them slipping smoothly.
If you have previously changed the diff lube, and have filledwith ONE bottle of additive, then buy an additional pint bottle and remove 4 ounces of your diff lube, then add 4 ounces of posi additive. Drive the car in tight figure-of-eight patterns (in a large parking lot, or similar) to distribute the new mixture between the clutches. If not yet cured, try again, in 4 ounce increments, for a max total of 16 additional ounces.
In addition to the Powerglide, and 3 speed manual, there were three 4 speed transmission options for 1967:
M20: Wide ratio with 2.56:1 first gear, had helical cut gears, fully synchronized forward gears. No rings on input shaft.
M21: Close ratio with 2.20:1 first gear, had helical cut gears, fully synchronized forward gears. One ring on input shaft.
M22: Heavy duty close ratio with 2.20:1 first gear, had straight cut gears, fully synchronized forward gears. Two rings on input shaft. This transmission, fondly known as the "rock crusher" was noisy, emitting a familiar, annoying whine (reminiscent of cars of the 1930's-1940's) due to the straight cut gear design. Available only with L71, L89, L88.
