53-55 Rear Parking Brake Cables

Out of curiousity, are the rear parking brake cables for 53-55 the same as for 56-62? If not, what are the differences? Does anyone know if the 53-55 rear parking brake cables are being reproduced and which vendor might carry them? If they are not being reproduced, are they available used?

No! they will not exchange the 53 to 55 are totally different , and no one repro's them , now and then you see them on e-bay
The difference is how they connect to the rear drums and frame.

Thanks Roy. I was asking for another NCRS member and hope he reads this. Do you know if they can be made from some other cables?

I think starting from 1948 to 54 Chevy they would work at the rear drums( same thing) , but then the front area that bolts to the frame is different and would need you to make a support for it. Then you would need to pull the cable out from the drum area end shorten the cable and re-swage a ball back on.
I think that was how a friend did it years ago.That's the closest cable I know that can be modified
