You only have to remove the bolt , pull the cable up , un-hook the thin rod from the innner cable and replace the O-ring

Doug I needed a o-ring for my 70's turbo 400. I stopped off at a local automatic transmission shop and talked real nice to a mechanic and we went to his tool chest and he gave me what I needed. I needed the o-ring to replace a leaking one on my speedometer connection piece that goes into the transmission.

O-ring sets near the top area , unhooking the wire is simple when you see it. It's quite simple when you pull it up the wire from the trans is spring loaded but you cant lose it . Come on go for it you can do it , you cant brake anything.
To set the kick down ( passing gear) at the engine rear area L/S the cable goes through a black support bracket that has a half moon plastic lock forward of the spring. Holding the Carb throttle wide open will pull on the cable, then you push the plastic lock down in , that sets the kick down . PS: To pull the plastic lock up use a fine tip screw driver.
