67 underbody reinforcements

Are the various metal reinforcements that are installed on the underbody fiberglass, such as the ones for seat mounting, natural metal finish or were they blacked out.

They were dip-primed semi-gloss black on St. Louis-bodied cars before they were riveted on, and were green zinc chromate primer on A.O. Smith-bodied cars.

C2 underbody reinforcements; need a clarification

John,

Were all of the C2 underbody reinforcements on St. Louis cars painted semi-gloss black? Or just the front seat mounts? The rear seat mounts on my '66 as well as the rear-most body mounts and the seat belt mounts don't look like they were painted to me.

Some 67's I've observed have the individual anchor plates for the rear seat mounts unpainted, but I haven't noted any other reinforcements that weren't primed (but I haven't seen them all)

The rear seat mount plates are my present project, so i'll spray them with a protective coat of natural metal spray coating and install.

John For the AO Smith bodied cars if the reinforcements were Green Zinc chromate were they painted before or after attachment to the body if before then the rivets would be bare of any coating, correct?

Correct, the rivets are natural. That would be true for the black ones too.
