    1959 rear end restoration

I would be interested in any input with regards to restoring the rear end of a 1959 Corvette. I would like to disassemble the unit, clean and bead blast the case, brake backing plates, etc. Any tips or advice on disassembly/reassembly would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rob

    Re: 1959 rear end restora

One suggestion is to join and get active in your local NCRS chapter. Most host technical sessions and you can make input on what you'd like to see. One of our members asked for tranny rebuild as well as rear end rebuild sessions.

Guess what? One year we did a tranny rebuild and he got his '61 done at cost by being the volunteer G-pig and the next year his pumpkin was the target.

So, lots of guys ask themselves why join a chapter and I say, that's where the "meat" of NCRS lives. The upsurd annual membership fee gets paid for over and over again by having local contacts to help, explain, do, and guide you in the care/feeding of your Corvette!!!!
