I am in the market to put a new set of tires on my 1969 big block and I am looking for opinions. This is not a show car(although it did get 3 stars in Bowtie judging) and I only drive it occasionally. How about opinions on Coker reproduction tires(do they make a repro of the F70-15 Goodyear Speedway blackwall?)Any comments on the Diamondback Classics? Also what metric size will work well that is the equivalent of the F70-15? I'd like to have the performance of a radial tire, but I'd like them to look as correct as possible. Opinions???

Re: Tire Recommendations Please
I always thought a Corvette should outhandle other cars. If you put F70-15 tires on it, your Ford Explorer will outhandle it.
In '73, then began using the GR70-15 radial and it looked good in the opening. Today, you would be a 225/70-15 for that size. In '78, they added the 255/60-15. However, that will rub your front fender lips as they trimmed them on the '78 and up with the 255/60.
A 245/60-15 will fit nicely, if you can find that size. A 235/60-15 is a bit too small, but will handle better than the 225/70-15.- Top

Re: Tire Recommendations Please
I have repro Goodyear speedways on my 69. They get terrible flat spots and follow grooves in the road horribly. I also have Firestone wide oval repros on my 72 and they seem to be much better tires to drive on although still not close to the performance of the radials.- Top
