Where can I get a gasket for a radiator cap?

Randy - I assume you're referring to an RC-26 cap; as the RC-15 did not use a gasket. Pete

RC15 has a gasket on the smaller diameter...otherwise you'd have metal to metal on the radiator inlet and you'd play hell developing 15psi in the system.

Purchase one of the cheap aftermarket or a common cap size and remove the gasket from that for use in your cap.

Yes, but that gasket is likely not the same one he's asking about or the one you're referring to in your other post.

There is NO gasket between the zinc plated cover of the cap and the outlet it attaches to. There IS a rubber "gasket" that contacts the narrow inlet of the radiator or overflow tank to seal it. This rubber gasket is not replaceable. Once it rips, you can have the cap restored, or buy a $5 one at the parts store.

See schematic in my recent article.

Patrick, I replaced my small diameter gasket which maintains the system pressure. It was a piece of cake....
