I'm in the process of wiring an electric fan into my 1980 L48, and it seems sensible to control it with a switch in the stock location for the L82 of that year - that is, in the right hand head. I still need some info to make sure I actually get the right switch - I've had a look through the GM parts microfiche and have found the following part numbers and descriptions listed for my year:
8993410 - 1980 350 W/SP H/PER A.T - Plug, Coolant temp
8993372 - 1979/80 305/350 - Sensor, thermo
8993358 - 1979/80 350 W/SP H/PER - Switch, Eng Temp
Can someone confirm for me that one of the above is what I'm after? I take it the "sensor" is for the temperature gauge, and the "switch" is for the fan, and is the one I'm after? As for the "plug", well, I'm baffled on that one!
I've tried googling these part #s without much success - can anyone recommend a source for this switch?
Thanks
