paint spray

I had a 6"X12" area on the top of my 66 front clip that needed paint repair.
I ordered marina blue & silver pearl base coat spray cans + clearcoat.
They matched paint perfectly. It is still dull. I have to rub out with med. rubbing compound to have gloss. I have yet to rub out. I posted this in case anyone had a area to repaint. I have never done this before but I THINK after rub out it will look good. Don www.paintscratch.com

Don,
I am redoing a section of the front fender on my 65 with single stage goldwood yellow paint from the same supplier. I let the paint sit for four weeks before buffing by hand with mild 3M rubbing compound. It looks pretty good, but the areas where I featherd to the original finish still need some more work. Good luck with your project.

Yes George, On my respray I went to a edge (top mold of fender, point of front clip, lite bucket) . It is almost impossible to go into orginal paint w/o some difference. I have a 3" part that I had to blend or do the whole fender. Very slight. I can live with it. Also when I sprayed clearcoat it was more difficult. I wet sanded with 600# paper between coats.(not last coat). That helped the blend. Don
