C2 64 under seat carpet cuts

What is the correct cutting under the seats for a 1964 (late March) - I mean the NCRS judging standards.

Did a search, but nothing was found, however I know its been discussed. Checked the AIM (ng) and TI/JG but not a good desrciption.

My old carpet is cut from front bolt to back bolt area with flap on the outside (inside being towards the center of seat. The back has a "V" cut so one can get to the 2 bolts in the rear. The TI/JG seems to say the cut is with the flap on the inside. The TI/JG also seems to say that the cut is not all the way such that the frame sits on the floor glass.

    Hope I've explained this??

    As always Thanks.

Re: C2 64 under seat carpet cuts

From memory....the front seat frame rides on the fiberglass and the front bolts are covered by a 3 sided relatively square cut in the carpet with the hinge at the front toward the steering wheel hiding the front bolt when the seat is in the far back position....the rear seat frame and bolts are set on top of the carpenting, with no cutout...I think......the early 64 cars, I think, don't have the carpet cutout.

Re: C2 67 under seat carpet cuts

      Alan,

Here is a shot of my 67 coupe carpets. You are looking in the driver's door at the ebrake on the middle of tranny hump. These carpets are the originals as you can see the "J. P. Stevens" tag glued under a piece that is rolled back on the passenger side of the tranny hump.

The front does have the flap cut out partially and the back lays on top on carpet but has a small cutout for the rear bolt.
