    67 435 Aluminum Intake

Can someone tell me where I can send my aluminum intake for cleaning and restoration and about how much it might cost. Thanks.

    Re: 67 435 Aluminum Intak

ASL Company located in Carson City, NV specializes in this work in addition to their main business which is restoration of smog system components like diverter valves and A.I.R. pumps. However, I have heard that ASL might be out of business or going out of business at this time. A friend in the Corvette business told me that repeated attempts to call them have been unsuccessful and no calls are returned.

Corvette Craft(aka ZO6 Productions) located in north east Florida also used to do this work. I don't know if they are still in business, either.

Corvette Craft did my 400 hp. intake. The work was excellent although a bit slow. It cost me $110.00 in 1996 and still looks excellent after about 6000 miles. They used to advertise in Vette Views and I seem to recall having seen a recient ad.

      Good Luck

        ASL address

ASL Company 1200 S. Rock Blvd., #110 Sparks, Nevada 89431

I used them three years ago to clean up a 66 aluminum intake that I had bought at Carlisle. It was complete with everything from oil fill tube to all the attachment. One of the attachments was a frozed bolt. I could not get it free without the risk of breaking something. They got the bolt out, cleaned up the intake, removed the oil splash pan on the back side, cleaned up under there, and then reinstalled the oil splash pan. If I remember correctly it was in the area of $200. Definitely not cheap but it was something I didn't want to try myself and it looks great. Gary

          Rick,

If you just need to have it sand/bead blasted, there is a place in Longueuil that does a lot of plating and polishing for the antique car market. I know Robert C. had a lot of work done there and is very pleased.

With regards to the restoration of aluminum intakes, does anyone know if Jerry Luck does this kind of work in addition to the carb work that he does?

            thanks, Everett

              Re: ASL address

I have been told that ASL is out of business and some intakes etc have been lost.
