Is Quanta the only company making restoration belts? I recently bought a set for my 78 pace car and only 1 out of 3 of their belts came close to fitting. Even after unbolting the alternator, it wouldn't stretch to fit. My original GM belts are not as thick, and they go on with plenty of room for adjustment.
Anyone else have this problem with these repro belts?
I have a 66 SB coupe w/PS & A/C.......purchased belts from Quanta & had to go through several different belts to get ones that fit....the good thing is that they are easy folks to work with...........Bob
I had my original 66 belts restored by Snake Oyl Products in Texas. They did a good job and I was missing a driver's side outer belt assembly, which they repro'd. Very nice -- but expensive.
I think this thread got accidentally hijacked--question was regarding engine belts, not seat belts. Quanta has been easy to work with, and has a good reputation.
I had the vendor problem (Chicago Corvette) sent me the wrong belt three time. I called Quanta and explained my problem and they told me to return the belt to them and sent me two 327-350hp water pump belts (small difference in lengths)and told me to keep the one that fit best and return the other. They refunded Chicago Corvette's belt and only charged me for the one belt I kept. That is customer service.
I've had a similar problem with the a/c belt on my 78 I think its a generic problem with the listings for 78 belts. But like others have said Quanta knows the meaning of customer service.
Quanta is easy to work with, I had several issues and had trouble getting the belts to fit properly at first. I wound up replacing a pulley and the belts I was having trouble with fit much better.
I had excellent service from Quanta all through the process. I also have purchased their gas tanks and had a shipping issue / damage on one, they replaced it right away and then they delt with UPS, very painless on my end!
Quanta made it right. As I requested, they sent out two replacement belts that were different applications, but about a 1/2" longer and they fit perfect. They even paid for return shipping of the incorrect belts.
