93 Warm engine start/alarm problem

My '93 with 66K miles starts fine cold. When warm it will not restart [sometimes] and on the dash "SYS" and "Security" will flash and the Instant Mileage will show 99 Miles per Gallon [dream on]. It seems clear that the theft deterrant system is trying to keep me from starting the car. I replace the CCM [computer control module] because it exchanges data with the ECM to permit starting. When it won't start, it will still crank, but there is no electicity to the injectors and therefore no fuel.

Any one with ideas about diagnosing this problem and/or its cure would be helpful. I don't want to replace the ECM unless it is the sure cure as it is a bit pricey...

Could be the VATS system.

Well, it could have been the VATS, but it turns out it was the ECM. Replaced that and problems gone. The difficulty with diagnosing C4s is that, for example, there were no codes at all. But, thanks for the input.
