I drive my '64 so have radial tires. They are not one of the original OEM brands however. It will have the car judged soon. I want to keep radials but am considering OEM branded radials to avoid a total ding on the judging points. How many points will I gain by switching to OEM branded tires? My spare is an original bias ply so I assume that will get full credit.

Re: Point Deduction - Tires
if spare is original OEM NON-DOT bias-ply 6.70 X 15 tire - full credit of 25 points for originality
your four OEM "service replacement radial tires" of correct size of 205/75-15 will receive the STANDARD deduction of 60% per tire or roughly FIFTEEN points off the 25 points for originalityRick Aleshire

Re: Point Deduction - Tires
David,
Full set of 5 Coker radials on my 67, 22 points off on originality out of 30 (75% deduct), then a possible 30 off on condition. Roy's new ones, like mine, would get 22-23 off out of 60. And I still made Top Flight.

Re: Point Deduction - Tires
The difference between the deduction for OEM-branded and non-OEM-branded radials on the road wheels is four points; hardly an issue in the grand scheme of things, certainly not worth $800 to save four points.- Top
