Anyone rebuild an '89 smog pump?

I went out today and the darn smog pump locks up on my truck. I figure they are pretty much the same across the GM board, so I was wondering if anyone has opened one up and fix it before.

Obviously, this isn't going to be a restoration item, and will proably be replaced by the cheapest junkyard special on Monday. I just thought I'd ask since I have all day Sunday to take it apart if anyone says they are pretty simple.

Mike I recommend getting a rebuilt one from Auto Zone, could be less money than what a junkyard wants for one and it will come with a guarantee.

Mike,

It's faster to use Autozone.com and AdvanceAutoParts.com for prices. You then also get to see the parts listed yourself, without dealing with a counter person who got fired last week from McDonalds.

my 89 5.7 did not come with a smog pump. were they on some an not others?

I don't know of anywhere to get the internal parts for these pumps. So, even if one wanted to do it and was able to do it, I don't think you'd be able to get the parts you need.
