1963 body mount

How much movement of the body front to back is there with the body mounts? I have the body back on a new frame, but it needs to move toward the rear of the frame. The bumper brackets are placing pressure on the rear body panel and I would like to gain more adjustment with the clutch pedal rod from the pedals.

There is some room, if I remember right. Mine is bolted down or I'd check a hole. Just loosen the body bolts and see how far you can slide it back. Maybe 1/4 inch?

Thanks Mike!

I loosened the body mounts and moved the body back about 1/8". The frame is a new frame and I believe that the mounting holes on the frame are off slightly. I filled the elliptical hole another 1/8" and the brackets now fit fine.

Ray -

Original factory frame hole tolerances were +/- 3/8" from gage dimensions; pretty generous.
