Corvette Central's disc brake kit

I've got a '56 and want to convert to front disc brakes. Corvette Central has a kit that provides for the conversion and the kit includes everything (dual master as well). It's entirely a bolt-on project. I've called CC and verified with their customer service that even the proportioning and residual valves are included and the kit has no problems with stock rims (or at least 15" rims). I noted that the calipers are single piston which means that the caliper floats (I would prefer fixed multiple piston style).

Has anyone had any experience with CC's kit? If yes, what is you opinion, pls.

Hi Don,

Please bare in mind that your wheels will come out 1,25 inch each side, this is very important to know if you want to stick to your cosmopolitan look of your vette. I suggest that you should paint the mounting bracket and the caliper, since it is bare metal. About the stopping power i can't advise you since my project still isn't fit to leave my garage.

Many thanks Pieter! I'd overlooked that matter completely and had run into that aspect some time ago when researching a conversion for another Corvette I have. I don't want the additional 1.25" offset. In my research, I found a place called HotrodsUSA that uses Wilwood disc brakes and adds hubs of their own specifications that permit the rims to remain in the original location. Not sure if they make a kit for a '56, however.
