C2 p/brake slider

After the usual push,shove,twist and almost standing on the head to get the p/brake console out I looked at the replacement slider and it had a pre-cut slot..do I presume that that is for the Dummy on this end..so I don' have to take the console out.I can take one or two Ha Has, please no more than two..Thanks ,SteveS.

The slit in the 67-82 parking brake lever seal ("slider"), if that's what you're talking about, is necessary for the seal to be installed around the lever. It has nothing, at all, to do with installing the seal without removing the parking brake console. There's no way that I know of to install this part unless the parking brake console is first removed.

Thanks Joe, guess it was wishful thinking on my part. I stopped the removal when I couldn't get to the two screws about 1/3 back from the buckles. Time to go back to the job. Any more than the 4 screws (or surprises) that I should know about ? ta steve
