I am trying to complete a 75 Corvette convertible restoration and the door glass is giving me a headache. When my client first brought me the car the windshield and door glass were busted out by a baseball bat and needed replacement. We had a difficult time finding the door glass last summer but finally located some. We installed the glass and everything appeared to be going smoothly until we tried to adjust the door glass to the convertible top weatherstrip. There is a gap between the top of the door glass and the weatherstrip big enough to fit your finger through, despite making every adjustment to the door, glass and top possible.
I have since discovered that none of the major Corvette parts suppliers has a listing for 1975 Corvette convertible door glass - it stops at 1974. I suspect that there is something different about 75 door glass and that is what's causing the problem. The glass we currently have installed is for 69L thru 74. I also noticed that there is no part listing for 75 coupe door glass.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem is and how we can solve it?
