Need someone to recommed a durable paint manufacturer for the F40 front springs on my 65 FI coupe. The original spring tags, although "ragged", are still in place. Thanks.

Were your original springs painted? Usually, I believe, front coil springs for 1965 were not painted regardless of the spring installed. Most GM SERVICE springs are painted, though. I'd be curious if yours are painted, especially if you have your original spring tags.
In any event, if you wish to paint the springs I would recommend Rustoleum Semi-Flat black or DeRusto Semi-Flat black. I've used the DeRusto product on front springs and have found it to be OUTSTANDING with respect to durability.In Appreciation of John Hinckley -

No trace of paint on either front spring.
I purchased the car from the second owner and he told me the front springs are original.
Springs are a little dirty, maybe overspray? Suggestions on how I should proceed? Thanks.

Unless you're planning on entering the car for Flight or NCCB judging, I'd probably clean and paint the springs with the products I mentioned previously.
Incidenatlly, the F-40 front springs for your car are still available from GM and are one of the last Corvette coil springs still so-available. They are GM #3832518 and they come already painted. They GM list for $63.00 each.In Appreciation of John HinckleyComment
