Re: Points
Echlin from NAPA is superior. I dont know if the Blue Streak line from Standard is still USA. But they were as good as the Echlin. Dont know if echlin is USA now a days havent used either in a while. Go to the parts counter and look/ask.- Top

Re: Points
Echlin, Niehoff, and BWD were all owned by Dana Controls until last year when Standard Motor Products bought the Controls Division from Dana, so essentially everything is now made by Standard, and Delco probably purchases most of their ignition products from Standard.
Bottom line is that once all the manufacturing consolidation is done all the brands will be essentially the same part.
I expect quality will be okay. The key is to use the high breaker arm tension points in engines with redlines over 5500 and be sure your 30-50 year old distributor is reasonably in tolerance, which most are probably not since they've probably been ignored for their entire life other than points, condenser, cap, and rotor.
