C3 steering box output shaft nut size

The nut that holds the pitman arm to the steering box: Is it a 1 5/16" ?

    A 1 1/4 is too small and a 1 3/8 is too big. That's a strange size - where can I find a socket for it? Thanks - Mark

1-5/16" is the size you need. It will be a little "sloppy", too, but it's the best you can do. I highly recommend using a SIX POINT socket for this.

You will not find this size socket at Sears. I don't think that Craftsman makes it. However, you can get it from Sear Craftsman INDUSTRIAL under their Armstrong brand (Craftsman Industrial is catalog only). The part number is 9-AM12042. You can also get one from Snap-On. The standard length, 6 point is TW-421 and the deep socket is TS-421. McMaster-Carr has them, too.
