My original BB hood was damaged and repaired but the repair may not be strong enough to take the stress over time. As the car is being prepared for painting at this time I would like to buy another aftermarket BB hood to install now. Can anyone tell me if there is a supplier whose hood is as close to original as possible. Thanks.

Re: 67 BB Hood
I don't know of any aftermarket hoods that fit right, but I do know someone with a GM 427 hood for sale.
Jerry Murphy has a '67 427 GM hood on his '66. It was installed before he bought his car in 1971. Jerry found a nice original '66 427 hood at Carlisle last summer. He now plans to take the '67 hood to the Cypress Disney Meet in January and sell it for $550. Jerry Murphy lives in Mobile, Alabama, and his e-mail address is jmurphy66@aol.com
Since I am not offering to buy or sell anything of mine, I assume that this post is acceptable to the NCRS. Goodness knows I don't want to promote anarchy by violating the anti-capitalism policy of this Discussion Board.
If it was my hood I would just give it to you, probably.- Top

Re: 67 BB Hood
Jerry,Thanks very much for the help. I am very interested in the original hood.Do you have a phone number for your friend in Alabama that you could E-MAIL to my home address so I can get this done as soon as possible.By the way,as a Canadian NCRS member(Montreal)I can honestly say that the help offered by other NCRS members through this discussion board is very much appreciated and is one of the most rewarding aspects of being a member of NCRS. Regards,Rick.- Top
