C1, C2, and Some C3 Small Block Spark Plug Wires

I'm replacing the spark plug wires on my 1962. 1961 to 1974 small blocks without fuel injection are supposed to be the same. I know how the wires are routed. The Lectric Limited set has pre-cut wires and the package assures me that they'll fit like a glove (but not OJ's). My question involves the placement of the wires in the spark plug wire support grommets.

The JG (p. 59) says that the grommets "are numbered to coincide with the cylinder wires." The grommets do have numbers embossed near each of the holes.

Am I supposed to route the wires in the supports/in the grommets in a particular order?

    Chris -

The correct placement of the wires in the grommets and supports is shown with each wire numbered in the Assembly Manual, which will match the numbering on the 4-wire grommets (depending on which way they're installed in the supports).
