In the process of repainting the center dash frame of my '65 the decision was made to remove it for this task. I was informed that the lower part of the center frame (below the radio opening) was originally glued to the body (but now the glue has dissolved). Is it adviseable to do this again when reinstalling the center dash frame? Perhaps the car will be restored in a couple of years and then it may be hard to get the dash frame off again.
Re: '65 Center Dash Frame - lower part glue to bod
If you drive the car, there is noticably more movement between the dash and the tunnel than with it glued, (bonded) it makes the assembly noticable stiffer and less prone to squeeks and rattles.
