Does anybody have any experience with this product from Shaler Industries? Is this another additive I could do without or are there benefits with the changing oils for our C2's.

Re: More Oil Talk
Isn't it wonderful that the learned backyard hotroder's tome has finally gotten up to speed on current motor oils. They're really on top of things, aren't they?
I think I've been talking about the ZDDP issue and recommending HD diesel engine oil for our vintage engines for at least four or five years. Now that Hot Rod endorses the practice maybe I won't get so much resistance on the subject.
Or maybe I won't have to waste so many electrons discussing it because if Hot Rod endorses it why do you need some old engine engineer's opinion.

Re: More Oil Talk
You're right Duke. You don't know poop about these cars compared to some kid with zits on his face, fresh out of journalism school working at "HOT ROD".
You should know better than to waste your time.....
We used to look up to editors who had the same juices flowing through their veins as we did, and we learned a lot. Today it's all about how much money a column inch can generate. A "technical" article in a car magazine today is nothing more than their self-paid advertising space to sell more magazines. Or an obvious advertisement hidden in the text for a supplier who also just happens to have a lot of ad space in the same issue....- Top

Re: More Oil Talk
If the packaging includes the API symbol and "CI-4", it's the real deal as long as you trust the brand name.
There are "house brand" CI-4s that are probably as good as the national brands, but I tend to prefer buying a national brand like Chevron Delo.
Walmart carries all three - Delo, Shell Rotella, and Mobil Delvac.
If you buy Delvac you will be contributing to the future retirement package of the new Exxon-Mobil Chairman. Isn't that a pleasant thought.
