    Corvette SSB Master Cylinders

I was getting ready to send out my '69 MC for rebuilding/sleeving, when my Driveline arrived and I saw an ad for Corvette Stainless Steel Brakes on page 24. They advertise "100% correct" masters, and it looks like they may have one with the correct casting and stamping for my car (the ad says 5460346 instead of 5480346, so I'll have to call to see if that is a typo).

This is the first I've seen this ad, so I'm not sure how long these have been available. Has anyone used one of these? How does it do on the judging field?

    Thanks,
    Jon

    Jon,

    I got one for a 67. Don't tell anybody .

But it judged 100% just recently at a regional. I think they just came out within the last 6-8 months, a bit more pricey now. Mine was $99.95 about 6 months ago on an ebay listing.

They have the casting number right; it is 5460346. There was no 5480346.

Jon.... Rik's Corvette Parts also is carrying the same MC... You can see pics of it at the bottom of his listings for MC's at his web page. They look very right in the pics.

JM states 5480356. I guess another typo in the JM. Glad I saw this as I was hunting for a 5480346.
          Thanks

              TIM&JG Error?

The TIM&JG says 5480346. Is that I typo in there then? Although the 6's and 8's can be hard to distinguish, I'd swear the MC I have is a 5480346 also.

Glad you mentioned that, Joe. Thanks!

Casting numbers are often difficult to discern. However, in this case, the number is 5460346.

Thanks for the info folks. I'm glad I asked before I had what might be the wrong master cylinder rebuilt.
