    1963 Engine Date Code Question

I've owned my 1963 Roadster for 30 years, finally doing my own frame on restoration two years ago, making it drivable and presentable. It is a NOM, but I am running the original intake, air cleaner, carb, and exhaust manifolds. It was a 300HP car, from what I can tell. I am interested in putting together an original type 300HP engine using what would be considered correct date codes. My intention is not to "Fool" anyone on it's originality, but I find it satisfying to make things as right as I can. I thought I'd start with the block. I know it's a 3782870 Flint cast.
My question is the block cast date. I've been researching the subject useing the Adams guide and other sources, and I heard NCRS finds up to 6 months prior to build date accepatable. What would be optimal? I'm considering a G153 block, but I think a June block would be optimal if I could find one.

Based on my trim tag that shows a body build week of "K 4", serial #20491, and available production numbers, the estimated build date of "The Car" is July 25, 1963. That leaves 10 days between the block casting for; engine assembly, transportation to St. Louis and assembly into the car for the estimated July 25th birthday. This timeline seems kind of tight to me. I want it to work, but it seems off.

Any comments would be appreciated. Thank You.

I agree. Ten days between engine block cast date and the car build code is quite common. Things were moving right along at that time and often these dates were even closer than ten days.
