Gus Grisson's 67 on e bay

It is very confusing to me on how this 67 435 that everyone agreed was wrong in EVERY way. Dates (4 mo.s early vin. to build dates) , color, options etc. was bid to $375,000 & seller would not let it go. I must be missing something. I am wondering if even the car was not orginal the fact that a national hero/ celebrity owned it drove buyers to bid so much?
would you venture your opinion to help clear this up for me? Thanks, Don

Don, IMHO that with a private auction it is very easy for shill bidding to take place. I never look at what a car was bid to. I only look at tranaction prices. I think that the history of the car definitely adds value to it but how much can only be somewhat determined if/when the car sells.
