Something funny here
Don,
I thought a red car should have a black hood strip. Also, the description says a red convertible top, and the picture shows a white one.
But, it is sure a nice looking car, Gus's or not.

Re: Gus Grisson e bay #
Good catch John. I didn't even notice that. Another piece of original paperwork is now invalid which makes the rest of the fable suspect, as far as I'm concerned. Typical "private auction".
And yes, the hood stripe is supposed to be black, not white.- Top

Re: Gus Grisson e bay #
The "original" window sticker pictured is a poor excuse for a reproduction. Many of the codes are wrong as well as the type itself. The VIN # was a "stamp" not typed.- Top

Re: Gus Grissom
There is a web site that has a lot of info on this car.
I ran into this site a few years ago. In one article, it tells that Gus Grissom had the fenders flared and mags added. I think one said he had it repainted. Anyway, once repainted, the color of the stripe is meaningless. I'd have painted it white, too, to match a white top.
