Does anyone happen to have a current part number for an engine oil pan drain plug and another for just the gasket? Groups 1.428 and 1.456. Thanks...

Re: C2 Part # Needed
Michael,
Regarding the drain plug gasket: I used a white plastic NAPA universal gasket when I put the engine back together for my '65. It looked like the original but seemed to want to weep for a long time.
The current gasket from GM is P/N 14090908. It does not look like the original, but it has a great little seal around the hole that should provide a leek tight seal.

Thanks Gene, that's exactly what I needed. I finally changed the oil in the 66 and the drain plug has been dripping about once an hour ever since, even though it's properly torqued to specs. I KNEW I shouldn't have changed the oil ! It's all Dukes fault.- Top

Re: C2 Part # Needed
Hi Mike,
After a long five year nap, the 425 HP is back "on the road again"! Spent almost a month repairing all of the misc things that happen to cars when they sit for a long time but finally had it out to terrorize the neighborhood again. I've learned a lesson about allowing cars to sit for long periods with todays fuel, especially in the Florida heat. It's just not logical to live in Florida and have a non operating big block Corvette conv in the garage.- Top
