The proper location of the pcv valve is in the rear of the carburetor just above the intake manifold. There should be a brass 90 degree elbow exiting the rear of the carburetor that the pcv valve screws into which is connected to a rubber hose about 6 inches long that is connected to a metal tube that bends behind the distributor and plugs into the block. This setup sucks emissions out of the block while the front of the air cleaner connects to the oil fill tube to allow the motor to breath fresh air back in.
