    eBay RC-15 silliness

    Hello all,

No this one isn't about the $400 that is often paid for restored but very correct radiator caps.

Here, someone paid over $130 for a cap that was NEVER installed on a production Corvette. That's 10x what I have recently paid for the same cap to use as a service item on my Corvette.

Someone please direct the buyer to the Winter 2006 edition of the Corvette Restorer.

    Patrick

Is it really that much different then going out right now and paying 300,000 for a house that might be worth 150,000 two years from now?

A couple years ago my buddy was thinking about buying a mopar hemi car for around $8000 I told him your a "silly guy" if you don't take my advise and buy a vett instead. I told him those mopar hemi's were going nowhere and he'd be much wiser investing his hard earned cash into a vett....because they don't lose their value. He didn't listen to me and brought the hemi...now who's the "silly guy"? I wouldn't want to bet that the guy buying that cap could possibly double his money in 5-10 years...anything is possible I've come to learn. Question his investment...I wouldn't dare

One thing you can't blame the seller as the picture shows what it is. I need to sell some myself at that price.

Where do you find a house for ONLY $300k ? $300k won't get you a two car garage in So. Cal. As for a 50% drop in price - location, location, location, population, population, population.

Building a 2500 sq ft one now and trying to stay within 300,000 including the mountain view acre and 1/3.....if i could only get that 3 car garage instead of the 2 car and stay w/n budget......still can be done on the east coast. BTW

Prices are much higher on the West coast because land is a 'perishible commodity'....

We lived 18 miles inland in San Diego for 11 1/2 years--always figured when the big one hit, we'd have beachfront property.
