    1954 Body Removal

I am planning to lift the body on my 54' and would like some advise on what has worked for others in the past. Doors, windshield, trunk, hood, and all items that can be removed from the body are off. Any guess as to the weight of the bare fiberglass body?

Do I need to reinforce the door openings as on the later models or can I position a person on each side of the car (lifting at the rocker panels), one person supporting the front clip, and a fourth person supporting the rear, lift the body and set it down on the garage floor until the rolling body dolly is ready? I need to make sure I have enough friends to help me out on this when the day is scheduled.

    Thanks,
    John Lanning

" Do I need to reinforce the door openings"
NO! Use the four guys under the door area, no need to have some one at each end.
Then support the front and rear area so that it don't hang while waiting to go back on.
Two guys can lift it with the items you took off.
