Re: C2 - 1963 Color of Window Wash?
Collin,
All of the C2 cars had green w/s/washer fluid as shipped from St. Louis. I believe the container was only about 1/3 full. Would be a great reproduction item for someone to make/sell although I believe there is now a company selling green washer fluid at typical auto parts stores.
At some point, I believe in the late 60's or early 70's, the color became blue to conform to fed specs for fluids.- Top

Re: C2 - 1963 Color of Window Wash?
I used water and green food coloring in the Z06 I "built" and showed at the Flint meet decades ago (70's?) and it passed with no problem. However, I suppose judges will now be sampling/tasting washer fluid because we let the secret out.- Top

Re: My 65 Impala was Blue
In 62-66 passenger cars, there was still a glass bottle in a bracket attached to the fender skirt under the hood. The old glass bottles contained green solvent. The small amount of solvent that was in the washer reservoir on a new car was also green until at least 68. I worked on these cars when they were brand new and remember the green color. My new 64 Corvette had green solvent in the reservoir and I bought GM solvent to add to it as I used the washers. A 1968 Z28 Camaro that I bought new had green solvent also.- Top

You're right Michael,
I confused the two colors. Over those years there were two suppliers of that product (at least two distinct labels). The earlier version was called Kleer-View and had a black & white label. The later product was called Opticlean and had a more colorful label. It's not uncommon to find an Opticlean bottle with blue fluid in an earlier car, as most of the originals were replaced and thrown away when they were empty.

John Hinckley Knows This Car....
If I'm not mistaken, the original green came in glass bottles and the blue came in slightly frosted plastic bottles. I'm guessing somewhere around 1969.
The bottle with the original green juice in the bracket in a 64 Corvair. (John Hinckley will remember this car)
