Looking for a source for original C3 Ball Joints

I seem to recall seeing correct repro ball joints some where for the C2 & C3 cars and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for these.

The newest Driveline is out and I recall seeing two ads in there with folks advertising correct ball joints. I don't have mine with me but if you will check yours, I recall that it was a photo ad showing the joints and rivets.

Call Mike at America's Finest Corvettes in Santee, Ca. I got mine from him, he is the manufacturer of "correct" repro ball joints.

You can find NOS on Ebay from time to time, but those are running upto 200.00 each.

Thanks guys. I rechecked the Driveline this morning and noticed the ad from America's Finest Corvettes and sent him off an e-mail.

Does anyone know what he is like to deal with?

"correct"

The "correct" ball joints I saw advertised on e-bay were close in appearance to an original ball joint, but when compared side by side were slightly different in shape of the non-threaded extensions of both upper and lower, and in the sheet metal dome of the upper ball joint. Even then, they're still a lot cheaper than an original - but then again, the 3rd edition of the 68-69 judging manual says "replacement ball joints are not to be penalized" you just get a deduction if bolts were used instead of rivets.

Go figure!

I spoke to him at Bloomington and Carlisle last year, and know others who have purchased from him.

A nice guy, though he thinks his parts are perfect. There are tiny differences, but not worth hassling about since he is reproducing items that no one else has yet done.

I plan on using his ball joints on my 71.

And, to the best of my knowledge, replacement ball joints are penalized in judging. Only 1-2 points, though.

Mike is a good guy, but he sure is busy! You may have to call him several times to get ahold of him.

The ball joints are good and you won't be dissapointed!
