    Re-attaching rear deck lid

I've just done a frame off on a mid-year and would like to know if anyone has an easy solution to attaching both springs to the rear deck lid without damaging the new paint. I've taken this car completely apart and now wonder why I ever disengaged the springs. Any help would be appreciated.

Joe, I hope you have the pivot brackets out of the car. If not start by doing that. Put the pivots in a vise and loop a rope in the spring eyelet and pull it up and over till seated.

I just did mine last week. Gene is right. Take out the hinges, one bolt on bottom two holding the hinge to the top. Once you got them out, lift spring onto hook. Use a vise. When you put back in make sure of your shims. Sometimes need on bottom and top where the bracket screws into the deck lid. Thats how you will adjust the height.
