Where can I find replacement "original" ignition keys for mid year? I have the original door key but not the ignition.

Re: Keys
The Driveline! Every month a fellow adverises original keys. Jesser's Classic Keys. 330-376-8181. Definetly not cheap but he has them. I talked with him at Carlisle a while back and he does have an impressive collection. Oth, if you are looking for functionality, that is a totally different question.
My opinion is that the point value of original keys, used in judging, does not justify the cost. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Keys
Ralph,
I agree. Even though the locks changed to a two key system for 65, the ign and door were still the same key. The second key would have been for the I.P. compartment and spare tire lock.- Top

C1, C2, C3 Key cutting, stamping, recoding
Having recently studied C1, C2 and C3 keys in some detail for an article in the Restorer, my recommendation for any C1-C3 key related work is our fellow NCRS DB poster, Pete Lindahl. I recently learned that Pete can supply correct key blanks, he can cut keys, he can stamp the code numbers into the knockout, and I'm guessing that he can rekey lock cyclinders, although I'm not 100% certain of this last item. In any case, I've seen Pete's work and it is as good as anyone elses and better/more accurate than some and for those reasons I'm recommending Pete. I have no stake whatsoever in Pete's hobby business. He and I were simply co-authors on the Restorer article and during that collaboration I learned that Pete has the above capabilities. Pete can be reached at (505) 663-0995; pclindahl@comcast.net

Pete did a great job on my keys
and stamped the numbers in the knockout. I just gave him the numbers off my original keys at the recent Flagstaff meet.

Forget about the rest -- you want Pete Lindahl. Just had two sets made for my 66 and the GM Briggs/Stratton blanks are awesome. After getting feedback from many about the others-- trust me-- use Pete.
