What would be the gloss, or finish, of the black paint used on interior parts, like the dash, on a 65 coupe? Would it be a true gloss black? What about under the hood, and in the wheel wells? Mine looks flat black there. Rich

Re: 65 What is the gloss for Interior & under hood
Rich:
For the interior, the two most popular choices are Krylon semiflat black, and John Deere Blitz Black. I use the Krylon, but both are fast drying lacquer, and come in easy to use spray "bombs". For the blackout areas, including the underside of the hood, I use Eastwoods "Underhood Black" which comes in quarts, and must be thinned with lacquer thinner.

Re: 65 What is the gloss for Interior & under hood
There are actually two different gloss levels on a '65 interior, depending on the locatiion. Full Gloss is used on the Windshiels side and upper garnish mouldings, Upper garnish mouldings (coupe above door) Halo Panel, Hardtop Garnish mouldings, Door upper inner, Kick Panel Retainer, Lock pillar return flange and cap. Low Gloss (3degree) is used on the Instrument Panel, Windshield lower Garninsh, Radio Speaker Screen, heater outlet panel, Seat and Jack storage wells, directional signal housing, Mast Jacket, Steering wheel hub, Steering column Escutcheon, Glove box frame, and inner linkage cover panel.Bill Clupper #618- Top
