c3 rear caliper bolts

does anyone no the exact length of the two bolts that hold the caliper on, van steel shows it to be 1 1/8", I have found 1" and 1 1/4". my car does not have the Z07 suspension. this is for my 75 vert. thanks, butch

The front bolts are 7/16-20 X 1-1/4". The rear bolts are 7/16-20 X 1-1/8". For this application it's important to use the correct length bolts. The 1-1/8" length is not a common hardware store size. However, you can trim a 1-1/4" bolt to this length. For this application, always use a known-quality, SAE grade 8 bolt.

joe, thanks,, I looked in the assembly manual and it shows a part #3843384 this number is no longer good or available from gm. I looked again at van steel and they show 1-1/8 for front and rear?? the assembly manual shows 2 different #'s, but it does not show the size or the length. butch

GM #3843384 was never available in SERVICE; it's a PRODUCTION-only part. However, this bolt was 1-1/8" in length.

The front caliper retaining bolt was GM #186645. It was never available in SERVICE, either. However, this bolt was 1-1/4" in length.

The 1-1/8" long bolt will work for both front and rear caliper retaining bolts. However, it's not what was originally used for the fronts.

joe,, thanks again, I'll order some bolts on tuesday, on my car the L/H rear, one of the bolts backed out and now is MIA... you have cleared up the fog in my head,,, I want it RIGHT!!! thanks again and happy driving..
