On my 63 coupe I need to know the correct grade, headmark, and length of the bolt that attaches the rear axle bracket to the frame crossmember in the front. This bracket is also attached to the rear housing with two short bolts that thread into the housing and a long through bolt and I would like to know headmarks and lengths for these also.
The front bolt (bracket-to-frame with 2 cushions) is 7/16-14 X 2-3/4". It is zinc plated, non-indented hex head of SAE grade 8 (6 lines). A "pinched oval" is one of the headmarks, but others may have been used.
The long bracket through bolt is 7/16-20 X 4-9/32". It is a non-indented hex head of SAE grade 5 (3 lines). I believe that it weas zinc plated, but I'm not certain of finish. I believe that "TR" was ONE of the headmarks used.
The short bolts at the forward end of the bracket into the differential case threads were 7/16-14 X 1-7/32". These were SAE grade 8 (6 line). They were non-indented hex head. I believe that they were zinc plated, too, and I think that "TR" was also ONE of the headmarks found on original bolts.
