I'm glad that you have raised these questions, particularly with respect to the color of the wires. I got a deduction on my 67 because the wire colors were not the same on each of the two lamps. One side has almond, blue-green, and purple wires, while the other has two almond and one purple. Even the judge who made the deduction was not sure what was correct, but he felt that the two sides should be identical.
Ever since then I have been trying to figure out what the correct colors are. At a recent chapter meet I looked at three different midyears, and each car had different colors in the wires. So, I remain uncertain about what is correct.
Regarding the crimps on mine, there is good wire definition on both sides.- Top

And that statement may not be true! Remember we are dealing with a manufacturing operation not a NASA project (and even there sometimes things were not per engineering drawings)
Just looked at wiring diagrams for some C2's, NOS lamps, and on the car lamps. Lamps on the car may have been replaced but are not repro,s. Results with colors in order;
63 B/W DBL V 64 B DBL PPL 65 B DBL PPL 66 don't have
67 IN W PPL LBL OUT B BBL PPL
NOS 1@ W LBL PPL 2@ LBL W PPL
CAR r@ LBL W PPL l@ LBL PPL W
As you can see the colors in the harness are not kept in order!
IMPORTANT - the 67 wiring diagram shows colors for IN (at light connector) and OUT (mating connector back to engine harness) One can assume that before 67 the colors were to be 1:1 while 67 saw a change? So from the info I have we still do not know - not sure how judging personnal can tell, however they go per the book so that's the best they can do.- Top

Attached are photos of my original 67 parking light. The heat seal is well defined on both sides. The colors are white teal and purple. A "vanilla" wire is probably a "yellowed from age white". As far as how the wires were heat sealed... in what order... I can imagine that there was no set configuration when placed in the sealer. The plug is another matter in that the wires must align with a particular tab in the plug. White is in the center.- Top

White only needs to be in the center at the plug, not in the sealed area.- Top

As noted in Steve's posting the White is always in the center at the connector which I verified with the 5 I have. The colors I listed are in the order they are in at the covering where they are sealed. The two on my car are also NOS.- Top

Based on the responses so far, we seem to agree on the color of the wires being white, teal and purple and that the white wire should be in the center position going into the plug. Does anyone have a strong opinion on the width of the crimp and whether the wire definition should be smooth or defined? Did the crimp width and wire definition vary depending on the insulation material and the pressure applied during the crimping process?- Top

I believe the aftermarket crimping is less pronounced and doesn't have the tabs like the originals. From what I've seen the original crimping is uniform from assy to assy. My $.02- Top
